Nvidia Wants to Replace Nurses with AI for $9 an Hour

Why target a regulated industry like nursing, I wonder? Wouldn't it be easier to use AI in, say, a drive through window at a fast-food joint? No liability could be a big upside, and the universe of conversations at the drive through would be much smaller.

IIRC, some of the more liberal states pay > $15/hr. to take fast-food orders, and this solution could be super valuable to a fast-food business with smaller margins than health-care.

Good point. I think they will not replace mission critical interactions but the mundane ones?

My crystal ball tells me this will neither usher in an end to scarcity nor will it reduce the cost of healthcare.

EDIT: to say nothing of it’s effectiveness re: outcomes.

AI has no compassion or empathy. AI won't be able to care for the elderly in nursing homes. Nurses make split-second decisions on how to treat patients. It has to be made with empathy and compassion.
