Life is important and longevity is desirable, granted. Life expectancy rank is a negative when talking about future demographics (the pyramid). For most of the world, it's inverted. This includes Japan.

There was an article a short while back explaining how older people in Hapan who died weren’t being reported, because younger family members were collecting their social security, and that these deaths weren’t being accounted for and inflating the reported life expectancy number.
