Seems like Apple entering the mid-range ($500-$700) laptop market to expand its market presence.

To me, that seems like Apple clearing out leftover inventory of machines they do no longer sell themselves.

Apple can sell on its own website and it will have good demand but than it will affect their M3/M2 sales. Also leftover inventory could be easily be sold via stores/BestBuy and all.

Also, quote from article - " But it looks like Apple is going to keep producing the M1 MacBook Air for this deal with Walmart."
