I don't see how JetBrains can fix (or even be expected to fix) this problem long term. It's a macOS/Java problem that can only be truly fixed by Apple and Oracle.
It makes a lot of sense for them to try though - the obvious reaction here is to switch to VSCode, devs using JetBrains can’t wait for Oracle to fix this. I imagine JB are churning a lot of users because of this
I like JetBrains products but every time I click on a youtrack link it takes 5 seconds to load. SPAs have gone too far.
If their goal is to be as agitating as Jira, they succeeded :)
No way. YouTrack is the least bad of the pack. It's the tallest dwarf.
Why does it take so long to load though? I’m sure it’s fine when you’re actively using it, but it’s infuriatingly slow when I’m trying to find bug reports for jetbrains products
the irony is that when I asked them about the stanza in the footer saying "Powered by MPS" they said YouTrack is actually written in a DSL, so that implies to me they could compile a "lite" version that doesn't require several megs of JS to boot up
