Very interesting, I had no idea there was that much potential impact on the brain. I started doing it for the usual weight loss reasons, as well as building better eating habits long term. But it seems like there's some other plausible benefits to be had. Interested to see what future research reveals.

10 hours is a huge window though, covering most of the day.
You don't fast for most of the day, you fast overnight. The most commonly recommended intermittent fasting plan is 16 hours meaning you have your last meal at 8 PM and first meal at 12 PM the next day for example. If you shorten that to 10 hours you could have your first meal at 6 or 7 AM the next day.
You sleep during the night and not eat as we have always done.
Yes, the point being that if you sleep 8h, then a 10h fasting window is really just 2h of awake time.
