I'm less worried about being surveilled by capitalists and more about that information getting into the hands of law enforcement. Capitalists, as a body, want to sell me stuff. That is less threatening than people who might arrest me.
These companies would want to sell your info to any group who see you as a liability, not just law enforcement:
- Insurance companies want an excuse deny payment
- Potential employers want an excuse to not hire you
- Landlords, neighbors, social clubs benefit from an excuse to deny you
- People who despise you for any reason may use this to hurt you.
Any of these uses today might be seen as extreme, but these things have a way of normalizing themselves over time.
