OpenAI investigation says it was wrong to fire Sam Altman

So an independent study paid for by the current board shows that it was wrong to have fired him after he was reinstated on the current board.

What a waste of money, time and reporting.

Here's the line that sunk the board: "Mr. Altman’s departure follows a deliberative review process by the board, which concluded that he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities. The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI."

Pretty much everybody who knows how to read through a press release firing a CEO knew that was an insufficient reason that would only bring more attention to the board's decision-making ability.

I think we can expect that Murati will leave, although stranger things have happened.
