How can that not be considered a freedom of speech issue or markedly different from a voice actor who can do a spot-on impersonation of a public figure?
This! There was a big hubbub about a AI voice doing a dead comedians voice, and everyone was pissed that AI was doing this evil thing, meanwhile the jokes were written by a comedian and had it been a impression he did also everyone would have been fine but because he voiced it using AI everyone was pissy.
What can be done to stop nonsense like this? Is this a case where writing to your congressman works?
IMO the law I would support is no automated marketing calls with AI voice impressions.
My immediate term concern for AI is enshittification.
