How many would vote for it if you took all the money and implicit health subsidies going to fossil fuels and gave it to the voters instead?

I'm reminded of the "medicare for all would cost 2 Billion!!" headlines, based on a report which found that not adopting medicare for all would cost 10 Billion.

We don't know what the other half would pay, but if we assume that $10 is the average everyone above 18 in the US, ie aprox. 260,000,000 people is willing to give per month, it means aprox. $31,200,000,000 more for preventing climate change per year. This sounds not too bad for a start.

Who would want to pay to fight Climate Change???

Fighting climate change should not be about making voters pay, it should be about forcing corporations to pay the costs they are currently externalizing to the entire planet.
