The Hot New Luxury Good for the Rich: Air

In China the air filtration is actually used very common by middle class because of the air pollution. Many new furnished home would install the centralized air filtration along with AC (for heat exchange purpose) And usually it costs about 5-20k us dollars (depending on number of rooms and size). I don't think this price level is only for rich. Note that many vendors are actually Japanese brands such as Panasonic, Daikin.

I've got a dust allergy and swear by the Levoit Core air purifier. It's crazy how much dust accumulates in such a short period of time (I live in a building with central air that doesn't have filters on the vents). I also try to open the windows for at least 10 minutes daily, even in winter.

Btw, HEPA filters also have downsides if they’re not replaced very frequently. They can emit endotoxins from the trapped bacteria within them: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31607942

Hem... VMCs are common in most of the developed world, and do have filters, ok, most do not have UV lights, but classic filter is the rule and electric filters are not so uncommon...

Is it Druish air? I hear that's the freshest.

tldr: Guy builds a lot of air filtration into his brownstone in nyc.

Internet nonsense clickbait 'journalism' turns it into 'the rich breathe different air'.

People with allergies have been putting extra effort into air filtration since fans were invented.
