Observations on Ritual [vs Dopamine Tech]

You could equally say go ahead and invest in malls, theatres and wedding event spaces if you believe in real-world rituals making a comeback.

Even if you could give fresh incentive for disuse of daily tech the damage is done as the habit (effort:reward) is too easy to slip back into. There's no going back to "dinner's ready!" lovingly shouted every night in every household because the devices produce indifference to situations which don't elevate the self in some near instant way. There is only going through tech now that better boredom traps exist and boring rituals trigger the action that solves the problem.

In some ways big tech is goading the start-up world to take the bait to build these niceguy wholesome less addicting social networks doomed to failure. Like OP's post, a good percentage of complaints on social media are about social media like a lover's quarrel. It's by design. In pricing strategy they say you are leaving money on the table if a good third of prospects don't baulk at the price.
