Part of childcare, is, for better or for worse, the local school system for most folks. When covid shut everything down and kids/parents had to exist in the same households, reported domestic violence/abuse cases went up, and many parents had to take time off from work just to deal with the added stress.

Employers also didn't care.

Children do well home schooled but some parents would struggle with that for many reasons, so I support school choice to give children the most possible options. School should be more physical and hands on to not leave boys behind and that obligates some amount of in person instruction.

I wouldn't send my kid to a public school for anything nowadays.
