The thing about bitcoin mining is that it requires more power, the more power you use. They network can work on far smaller resources.

That would require the price to drop proportionally (or waiting for halvings).

So in the limit, buying POW coins is using that money to consume energy. Selling the coins is taking that money away from energy consumption.
