I was buying ice cream at a Dairy Queen years ago, on a hot summer day. A lady pulled up in her rusty car, heaved herself out, must have weighed 300 pounds. Shuffled to the window, ordered a half-dozen shakes and sundaes. Got them, carried back to her car, and shoveled them in like it was a compulsive thing.
Nobody said anything, we tried not to stare. But I really wish the store had refused her service. It was clearly a regular thing. Like watching a heroin addict shoot up, or something.
Yeah, nobody is required by law to help. But somebody should.
Sounds like the law needs to be updated. But I imagine the casino owners have a lot of influence on the legislature, and it will be hard to fix this.
