What is the proven way to actually create wealth in a decade or so without trying to "retire a millionaire"?

Early stage startups are going to be a crapshoot and can take a number of years (maybe even 10) to pay off, if they do. I have no experience with late stage startups so maybe someone else can chime in. FAANG pays a high salary and RSUs so in terms of seeing your bank account grow over time I would say FAANG > early stage startup. As I said unclear about later stage where the path to IPO or big acquisition is clearer.
