Capitalism is a game where the goal is to get out of the game. With enough money the rules of capitalism no longer apply.

Wanting to be rich is just a search for an exit strategy. Once found, the game ends.

The problem is that it rarely really ends. That's human nature, we always want more. People get rich and they want to be richer.

The neverending game of monopoly. Capitalism could do well with a redistribution button.

IIRC it was the Babylonians that made a reset on all debt each time a new king came to power. Debt was simply wiped out and everyone restarted on a more level playing field.

Our form of capitalism could do well with such an instrument.

I think you misread the stoics. That philosophy teaches contentment with what you have, and that greed is a passion, the opposite of virtuousness.
