Neuralink Announces First Brain Chip Implant in Humans

I think the concept and application is awesome.

However I am not sure I would like hardware implanted into my brain if that hardware is produced by an entity that has serious trust issues behind it.

Presumably this stuff will likely not be open sourced and with wireless communications as being an aspect tied to its use how is one supposed to be reasonably assured that this stuff is unhackable within a reasonable manner?

Additionally there's a lot of ethical concerns that come from the research done by Nauralink in particular. If they're this cavalier with their research practices how good are they going to be at guaranteeing to customers this isn't going to lead to horrible diseases or others issues related to their implementation?
