The article quotes one researcher as saying this helps us understand the "seeding of neurodegenerative disease by amyloid-beta". I really don't know much about this topic, but I'm surprised to see people still attributing it to amyloid-beta when there's so much debate now regarding whether amyloid-beta is a cause or merely a symptom (or, perhaps most likely, one of multiple factors which contribute).
