Ask HN: How to build a decent wait list for your upcoming project?

Hi guys.

I am currently working on Labour.Quest (https://labour.quest/), a service that allows professionals to host & share their resume using custom themes (sort of like Tumblr).

I am trying to get my wait-list to a decent number of contacts to no with very mediocre success.

I have tried Product Hunt & Beta List. These however, have not moved the by needle much.

Indie Hackers is a bit arbitrary on how one can be able to post their project there.

1. What strategies do you recommend I try?

2. What have you used that has ever worked for you?

3. Basically, what is the most effective way for me to get a decent number of sign-ups for the wait-list?
