With Boeing and Airbus making so many mistakes of late I'm curious why Embraer isn't floating an idea like making a plane that would compete with or replace the Boeing 757. Airline makers have been demanding a 757 clone for a while and Boeing is maybe, kinda, possibly considering making the 797 to fill that spot. Neither the 737 MAX 10 nor the A321XLR really duplicate what the 757 did... seems like everyone is leaving money on the table to not hit that spot in the market.
Surprised how many there are on order (7,623; 1,420 of those already delivered).
Wonder why airlines aren't cancelling orders. Do passengers just not care. Or are the cancellation penalties so high airlines would rather chance it.
