Donor Bounties: A New Kind of Feature Bounty

If a donor wants feature XYZ but that’s a lower priority for the project, the project leadership could still budget for it because once the feature is done they will get that money, allowing flexibility on how the project team pays (or not) for that feature.
Project leadership gets to set priorities, developers collaborate rather then compete, and the donor can make a feature happen faster and probably at a better deal then doing the contribution themselves. Seems like such a winning combo I’m surprised I haven’t heard of it until now.
