With individualized ads there is no chance for a broader discussion on the ads veracity, the ads can exploit individual fears and concerns, and they can give opposing messages to different groups on niche issues that do not enter the public debate.
Are you saying individualized marketing is no more effective than generic mass advertising, in the same answer where you write it's been a money maker for Facebook and "all these other companies"

I know, and I'm saying in politics it should be banned. Some countries have strict rules for the types of advertising politicians can use, America is not one of these countries.

think of it like a local variable, it only needs to persist long enough for the function to complete and for the correct return value to be set
There are things that a subset of people believe, but I don't think we can name that concept with "truth", it would be confusing.
