Polish here. We have nowadays similar political situation to US. 2 major fractions on political scene. And also the support for both is oscillating at very similar level. So both of them when in power use every legal means to overpower the other because even tiny bits of votes matter to win next elections. TVP is just a national TV broadcaster with government being major (or only) stakeholder. So new gov, means "new owners", means "new order" at that company. Was exactly same with previous gov.
