It's generally considered a poor strategy to threaten a board (people in general) with outcomes they might prefer.

That's my best case scenario, Tesla can get back to fulfilling their mission without the drama.
And without gull wing doors or cyber trucks - needlessly hard and costly things to manufacture that bleed resources.

It's a really interesting strategy to proclaim this. I assume the intent is to get better leverage for an eventual comp plan: by implicitly threatening to tank the share price, he can convince the board to grant him more equity for different performance targets.
That's a very bold strategy and I'll be interested to see whether it works or not.
