This type of culture war bait is a little lame though. Its even more lame that he isnt welcome in certain bookstores for some reason. His book is still going to sell great and its those bookstores loss for not seeing his value.
To pretend that luck, systemic forces, and privileges has nothing to do with your success (or weighing against your success) is frankly incorrect.
To be sure, they aren't totally determinate. No single factor is going to make you a success or a 'failure'. As a youtuber put it and I paraphrased, "all you can do is play the best god damn game you can". If you win, you win. If you lose, at the very least you tried your best.
While I believe that the kind of "extreme wokeness" of a small part of close-minded US "liberals" and Academia is detrimental to the democratic discourse, I also believe that Jordan Peterson has been repeatedly playing with fire, and demonstrated toxic traits that invalidate his own Academic work.
Refusing exposure to someone who embraces by proxy that narrative is perfectly fine for commercial establishments that need to target a specific demographic. He's just not in target. He should be fine with that, considering that's how their beloved capitalism and free market work.
