Of course it's big news, there's a whole trade conference[1] about it and a lot of money to be made in loss prevention that has a story[2] that constructs the problem.

There's no money to be made in wage theft and certainly no trade organization or trade conference to create buzz regarding wage theft.

Media companies love bite-sized press releases they can turn into news stories and the NRF delivers.

Guess that reads better than 0.07%. It is interesting to see the NRF meeting include cyber risk along side retail theft.
