One of the "greatest" miscarriage of justice in British history... Thats rich. The sun never sets on the British Empire... Without a doubt this is a miscarriage of justice but this does not even move the needle on the list of atrocities that the British empire is responsible for.

No, see, this touched people on the wrong island!!!

Not in backwaters like Ireland or India or south Africa or Australia or Burma or ....

“Computer Weekly has investigated the Post Office Horizon scandal since 2008 and is, in fact, part of the story. This guide contains essential information about the scandal”

Even when "a software glitch" is not precise enough the article is very concise and gives an up-to-date view on many aspects of this saga.

Live by performance, die by performance.

"Horizon? What's Horizon?" was the reaction of a former company president in Tokyo when the BBC asked him about it in 2022...The perfect answer from somebody who pockets bonus for good governance...

"Cameron cannot recall ‘in any detail’ being briefed on Horizon scandal as PM" - https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/jan/14/david-camero...

A case of Global Amnesia. Fascinating in itself.

Fujitsu is an extremely large company, and their subsidiary ( ICL ) was making the software. You asked the question to the head of the parent company in HQ. I would not be surprised that was his answer.

That sounds like Boeing saying its not their responsibility but Spirit AeroSystems instead...ICL was part and branded Fujitsu since 2002. Also if you read the article you will notice this was a president of the company for 20 years. The current president refused two BBC interviews so far.

On a corporate Japanese culture that primes on going to the finest details, you can't have it both ways. UK Fujitsu Services Ltd posted in 2002 revenues of £1.3bn. That is almost 8 to 10% of Fujitsu global revenue.

The though of a company president for 20 years, knowing zero about a major scandal that puts its subsidiary in the news for more than 10 years is well...
