Ask HN: Temporal or Its Alternative?

My current startup has some promising use case to be solved by Temporal as a workflow orchestration engine. However, my prior experience with it in a previous startup was so so, and its usage seems to be stagnating (according to a former colleague).

A friend who worked at Temporal also seemed to be not fully confident about the company. Have they lost category position?

Is there a better tool recommendation by the great HN community?
