Airbnb Was Supposed to Save Capitalism. Instead, It Just Devolved into Garbage

That’s like saying: this system of free people electing to freely interact… it’s busted beyond repair and needs saving!
Instead of blaming capitalism, why not point the real culprit? The government. AirBnb was great, until the hotel industry lobbied the government to drive AirBnb out of business because they didn't want the competition.
It resulted in the following:
1) Forced anyone listing an AirBnb on the platform to pay addition taxes, which raised the price for the customer.
2) Created more restrictions in big cities (which includes banning it in many areas), which decreased supply and drove the costs up for all (another win for the hotel industry).
If a more free market could actually exist for AirBnb, costs would be driven down and it would be a win for customers.
The 'enshittification' of any industry usually is a result of the greedy government wanting their cut. The same thing has also happend with Uber/Lyft and the legalized weed industry.
