What Is Sabbath Mode?

A colleague once made a script that would follow links at random around Wikipedia.

His presentation was more in an artistic collage-style, but one might imagine a similar mechanism to provide "sabbath mode" for a web browser, browsing autonomously to avoid the potential melakha of borer involved when selects a link, removing all the unwanted anchor texts, leaving only the desired destination text?
