This post is about a specific watch that has a duplex escapement, but doesn't really go into the workings of the escapement.

The large escape wheel is used for locking, and the small escape wheel provides the impulse.

It's always an interesting feeling to look at the pictures, think to myself that this level of mechanical precision could easily be achieved today, then realise it would've been made between 160-230 years ago.

Right? Like this isn't even that much impressive, considering.

I think the thought was the other direction - it wouldn't be impressive today, but for its time it is impressive.

Beautiful. And I'll use that wobble stick idea, albeit perhaps on a larger scale.

It's basically a primitive dial indicator.
