But actual users seem to say it's a bit of a mixed bag.
If someone's looking for a laptop (that doesn't need touchscreen support), then Apple laptops with Asahi Linux are probably the better choice.
Or.. well it might sounds crazy.. but perhaps a laptop that actually supports Linux? Even from mainstream OEMs like Lenovo/Deal?
Is Asahi Linux even usable at this stage? AFAIK:
- no GPU (?), definitely no Vulkan
- no 60Hz +
- no thunderbolt/USB 4
- no external displays
- no microphone
- much lower battery life
- very limited distro choice (of course masochists who are going to do this in the first place would probably use Arch anyway)
Also ARM on Linux? I mean it should work but I doubt whether it's the best choice for desktop usage at this point (plenty of GUI apps don't support it).

This is literally a discussion on laptops, so that doesn't really apply. :)
I didn't realise it didn't have good battery life though. If that's really the case then it's pretty much a show stopper from my point of view. :(
By that I mean non-server (in the context of ARM on Linux)
