That's disappointing. GNU's extensions to the C language are extremely valuable features. I'd like to see what sort of contributions they would make.

They may be valuable C features, but Rust isn't designed by committee, and if it's missing some useful feature, you could probably convince the Rust team to include it, without having to invent GCC-specific extensions.
