Does this mean that old x86 CPUs without AVX won't be able to run JVM anymore?
AVX2 actually, not AVX. They have check in the code, so it won't use it unless the CPU supports it.BTW the latest CPU w/o AVX2 are not that old, I think 11th gen celerons do not have it.
