Hubless-wheel electric penny farthing is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece

If you can get up on a penny farthing, you're most of the way there, and the electric should be a bit easier for that. Fixie experience is good for figuring out how to stop the damn thing, but penny farthings go wrong in very different ways.

Riding a fixie isn't really any harder than a normal bike. Just ride one with brakes.

They are dangerous! It is the reason the next iteration of cycles was called the safetey bicycle, what we would now all reasonably call a normal bicycle.

In a way this seems compatible with transit elevated bus - also elevated and allowing pass through traffic.

And speaking of spokes, that's what provides the strength in a traditional bicycle wheel. That allows for a fairly lightweight rim. Without the spokes a much stronger (and heavier) rim is required.

This is an interesting exercise and beautiful result but I wonder if it is more a work of art than anything practical. Aside from the impracticality of the pennyfarthing configuration the pennyfarthing was replaced by something called the safety bicycle for good reason. (The safety bicycle is the most common configuration used today.)

Also with no hub, there is nowhere for a chap to hang his acetylene light.
