One quick comment on consistency - There is db consistency and app consistency. For e.g, you can achieve A, I and D on one table at a time, but fail on a multi-table write.

Once you deal with transactions which can update multiple tables at the same time, then consistency comes to play. All the tables should be updated at the same time or none.
