Queer People with Scales and Tails :D

What's the significance of this? Is it just a very old kids book about anthropomorphized animals whose archaic-language title can be read anachronistically to refer to gay people and furries?

This is a children's book about animals. What am I missing? Are we just laughing because words used to be used differently?

Better storytelling than the children's books with queer in the title these days.

The Elephant and the Donkey (pg 14) made me laugh.
