Luiz Barroso Has Died

This should be a gift link so it should work without archive hacks. That said, I am sad to hear of his passing. When I was at Google, Luiz and I spent quite a bit of time discussing the "Datacenter as a computer" concepts. I mostly was trying to convince him that 'storage' and 'network' were first class components in addition to 'compute.'. :-)

I don't know if he had a chance to see what 0xide is doing but if he had, I believe he would have been impressed.

The idea that many machines that were not strictly reliable could provide 100% uptime service was something I took away from Google thanks to Luiz's vision.
