I tried signing up for it earlier this year, but they sent an email with a tracking link to download software I'm supposed to just install blindly. Doing things that way in 2023 struck me as so horrifically out of touch that I just passed on bothering with it.

Clearly a distinctly minority attitude, but I guess that's life.

So... Not at all out of touch then, as most people seem to be fine with it?

I certainly did not mean “out of touch with what people will do”.

People click on links they shouldn’t all the time. People accept user-hostile decisions and software all the time. Etc.

Now the signups ask for your RAM & CPU specs so I am guessing they will be heavy on both but as long as they make a better experience I will be happy.
