> HOT DOG Linux is an acronym that stands for Horrible Obsolete Typeface and Dreadful Onscreen Graphics for Linux.

Based on the screenshots alone I'm confident that they've succeeded in their goals.

For those who don't know, it's a reference to the "Hot Dog Stand" color scheme that was one of the built-in options for early Windows

Což znamená, že je to nepoužitelné pro značnou část světa.

I wonder why. I assume because they heavily use objective-c.

I have to hope it's at least 8-bit safe.

Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages and accents can be removed and the result is perfectly understandable.

In Portuguese, which has more accents we also learned to live with systems that don't support them properly, yet caça and caca aren't the same, and the recipient better understand the limitation of the comunication medium.

There's also mention of a web browser:

The repo has some screen shots

Thank-you. The screenshots make me wonder if the author uses nvi. It looks like that in XQuartz xterm too¹. Plus the "(END)" at the bottom.

¹ Using `xterm -rv -maximized -w 0`

Let Plan9 take over

Is there some fun way to take Plan 9 out for a spin on a macos system ? Or its designated successor, Inferno ?

9Front runs fine under VirtualBox -- just be sure to pre-allocate the whole virtual hard disk. (You only need a tiny one.) If you use sparse allocation, formatting fails.

Yes—go to https://copy.sh/v86/ and click on the 9front link. A session will open in your browser.

You'll notice that window management is quite different from what you're accustomed to, here's a brief guide:

Since no one replied regarding Inferno, yes.
