It's hard to put a valuation metric on similarly performative organizations such as the Democratic Party and the Republican Party operating on a higher plane compared to the aforementioned sports team but I reckon the yearly financial turnover of both parties to be less than 175bn.
Although turnover is not the same as valuation, a better valuation measure would be estimating the amount donated through the years by the Koch Brothers and Sheldon Andelson to be the kingmakers in the Republican party which is one of the 2 dominating performative political organizations.
Are you serious? The company launching more mass into orbit than the entire rest of the planet combined (by an almost 4x multiple) with a single constellation of satellites larger than the combination of all other satellites ever launched by mankind is a company of "purely performative nature"?
The passion for space has driven people mad into spending billions with no ROI.
It already happened for the Apollo Program where all of a sudden the lunar rocks became some sort of fetish object that supposedly held god knows what secret and it was a matter of National Security to get those rocks before the USSR
In reality it was just BS sold to taxpayers in order to fool them into financing a bunch of guys who wanted to play with expensive toys.
Irony is that the astronauts themselves fooled the rocket scientists and the program directors because the former had all the fun whereas the latter did all the excruciating technical and political heavy lifting including selling BS to taxpayers and when the plug was pulled by sensible people they were still NPCs were in the black book of government.
So in the end after billions of dollars spent and no quality of life ROI, the winners were JFK who became an inspirational hero and the astronauts who had fun being space cowboys.
Same will happen with SpaceX, billions will be spent with no quality of life ROI for nobody, but Musk will find a way to spin it into a success thanks to all the media astroturfing he can buy and his ability to shove BS down people's throats, astronauts will have lots of fun and the SpaceX employees will find themselves burn out and divorced.
We now have more unconnected people, not less
