Ask HN: What extra-ordinary presents can you think of for kids?

These are very cool. https://www.spielzeug-meiners.de/marken/simba-dickie-baby-un... fun to see kids learning how to use a wrench and screwdriver and washers.

A cheap micrometer, and some simple hand tools for working with metals, plastics, etc. Files, screwdrivers, rulers, etc.

An Arduino starter kit with plenty of servos, sensors, etc. All run off a few batteries, and relatively safe.

It's amazing what kind of instrumentation you can get for less than $100 these days.

turing tumble is super fun. Really cool graphic-novel style instructions too.

My 6yo loves the computer with Paint 3D app, GCompris, TuxRacer and few RPGs from DOS era.
