Ask HN: A Non commercialized project for 2024
As 2024 is approaching I want to give back to the community of Internet users (HNers included) & anyone who is selling: from products to services. Should I make this project available to the public? -> https://imgur.com/a/vlb6fMb
---PAST--- Compared to today's link aggregation services and limited features hidden behind a paywall, I found the need to create a link aggregator that EXPLAINS my links as well as for selling my freelance services, to properly guide my potential customers. (NOTE: This was not the only reason, as I also wanted to build a fun web dev project of my own for myself.)
---PRESENT--- I'm building a hobby project for myself, it currently features: V1.0 --- - I can list your shop or products or services on one page along with a description of each link. - Since im into B&W and not a color guy, It's a dark minimalist layout. - I have a unique username that leads to my page. - A specific page looks like this, in this case, my username is imu4 . [https://imgur.com/a/vlb6fMb] - planning a current limit of 50 links per user, or should I increase this? V1.1 - Analytics for: A. # of Clicks on each of my link(s)? B. # of users visited my page?
---
I wanted to ask, if this is something you would also be interested in and should I make it available to the public. If I do so, I have no intention of making it a commercial product nor forcefully charge anyone to use it.
In the event of publicly making it available, It will be limited to 100 people max, although if 10 people also show interest I might just make it public, limited to 100 people for now to understand what's what and how things work.
If there are people interested, I will have to open a discord for this project to talk with them. I haven't thought of a project name, I am open to naming suggestions as well.
Would you be interested in something like this or am I gonna waste time making it public?
