Maker of Wegovy, Ozempic showers money on U.S. obesity doctors

Almost every drug commercial I see these days is for a diabetes drug. It's a big racket. The packaged food companies load their offerings with fructose, huge numbers of people develop diabetes, then Big Pharma comes in riding on a white horse offering treatment. Cue to fat executives chomping on cigars in some huge office and laughing all the way to the bank.

Sadly, reality /is/ exactly that cartoonish.

How are they able to get around the Sunshine law: "The federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act requires that detailed information about payment and other payments of value worth over ten dollars ($10) from manufacturers of drugs, medical devices, and biologics to physicians and teaching hospitals be made available to the public."

Health care in the USA is a rigged game being played for money --- and consumers are the marks.

I have suspicions that they must be paying for some of the press coverage, as well.
