Richard Stallman's political discourse on sex

Though I dislike DeVault myself, this is a well-researched blog post that clearly demonstrates that Stallman has an oddly-specific interest in defending adults having sex with adolescents. I was very weakly hoping for Stallman's insistence on distinguishing between children and adolescents to come from a position of a broader youth rights, anti-adultist advocate, but this long, recurrent pattern of very specific focus on the subject of sex makes it clear to me that, indeed, this isn't where it comes from.

Stallman's only mistake was equivocation. He should have held firm and never apologized. It just gives ammunition to his enemies.

So he didn't actually do anything wrong, even by the author's admission. But if it makes someone uncomfortable, that is enough.

I submit that abortion can make people uncomfortable. Or defunding police. Or supporting/opposing military actions.

Presumably the author doesn't consider those beliefs to warrant ostracizing.

Instead, it's only some politics, and conveniently the ones that they dont like.

We have to stop this nonsense! No one should feel their livlihood is at risk because of politics and consent laws.

As shown by the quotes of the actual content of what Stallman said, it's abundantly clear that Stallman did nothing wrong.

People care about what Richard Stallman does, thinks, and says. Like Richard Stallman, those who listen to him have the freedom and responsibility to exercise critical thinking and think on their own.

Richard Stallman is a notable person who will be remembered probably for millennia. No one will remember the hobbyist Drew Devault.
