Ask HN: Impact of current AI breakthrough on the educational choices of youth?

I was curious what HN thinks of this. A few people have asked me about this, specifically bachelors degree choices, but want to see what the community thinks. Will the current AI breakthrough force kids to change the education choices?

I see that there get the past decade ML is a hugely popular subject for CS students, I know some folks in medicine study ML too. However if AI gets commoditized will there be enough impetus for students to take it? How about students in other fields? Should any worry about their fields becoming irrelevant? May be I am unnecessarily overthinking this and nothing to overindex on?
