This is a work of fiction about writing fiction, and it is full of "purple prose". Not recommended.
I don’t think that’s a fair assessment. Perhaps you didn’t finish it? Author says explicitly it was based on his actual experience. It’s fictitious in the sense that names and subjects have been changed.
This is not particularly well written or enlightening. It’s almost ChatGPT-esque in its wandering tone and flowery prose. Makes the post-script chatGPT section even more strange.
What did I just half read??
Guy gets in on the ground floor of gaming Wikipedia for political purposes. Unsurprisingly, this “confession” comes from the left side of the spectrum, however. It is only “fictional” in the sense that he changed names/topics. And connects it to ChatGPT as the endpoint of this phenomena.
Great post, I can see why HN is taking it down after all the "Russian propaganda" meme magic we've read on this site over the last few years.
Thank you. Extremely ironic timing to get that piece flagged after nothing more than a link to a Wikipedia page so biased it’s not even worth responding to. Note how these censors and fanboys offer zero factual discrepancies whatsoever. They just can’t stand the idea of questioning their worldview. I, for one, posted that Signal piece even though I have contributed to them.
I would be extremely shocked if HN itself doesn't run a process to detect certain topics.
Certainly possible. But fragile libs (not talking about actual lefties) are pretty good at censoring on their own.
