Will AI/machine learning bring about more good or bad in the next 100 years?

We're seeing huge advancements in fake photos/videos/audio. Pretty soon we won't know what's real and what's not. Even from a historical context, it might be hard to find what was real and what wasn't. There's talk of being able to detect AI, but as detection gets better, so will the AI and it could get to a point that it's truly undetectable. ChatGPT already turned off their detection because it wasn't working well enough.
