Show HN: Securday – An Anonymous Natural Language Network/OSI Mapper
I'm Joshua Herman, and I'm excited to introduce to HN Securday – an innovative Anonymous Natural Language Network and OSI Mapper. Securday is accessible in two distinct ways: through the website at [Securday](https://www.securday.com) and via a dedicated SMS phone line at [+1 (825) 251-9142](tel:8252519142), which offers enhanced anonymity.
I had the opportunity to present Securday at Defcon 31, where it received an overwhelmingly positive response. One of the most fascinating aspects I discovered during the presentation was the system's remarkable capabilities. For example, it can determine if a website hosts a Tor hidden service simply by using curl. This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what Securday can do. I'm inviting the Hacker News community to explore and test the limits of Securday. Your experiments and findings could significantly contribute to our understanding of its potential. Please share your experiences and discoveries in the comments. I believe Securday can be a valuable tool in addressing global information security challenges. It empowers users to perform tasks that were previously out of reach, enhancing our collective ability to tackle these issues. Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback!
In addition to its core features, Securday is capable of handling a variety of intriguing queries and tasks. For instance, you can ask it questions like, "Does defcon.org use HTTP/2?" to understand the protocol specifics of a website. For those interested in network security, you might find it useful to inquire about open ports on specific IP addresses, such as "Welche Ports sind unter 1.1.1.1 geöffnet?" (Which ports are open under 1.1.1.1?). Furthermore, Securday can assist in identifying potential security threats, allowing you to ask questions like, "Is https://secure.eicar.org/eicar.com malware?" to verify the safety of web resources. Or writing python scripts that can do netcat and the game of life.
These examples illustrate just a fraction of Securday's capabilities. Whether you're a cybersecurity enthusiast, a professional in the field, or simply curious about network and internet security, Securday offers a unique and powerful toolset to explore and analyze digital landscapes. Dive in and discover what else Securday can do for you!
While Securday is equipped with translation capabilities (that seem to be an unintended feature of OpenAI’s API, it's important to note that these currently extend primarily to non-pictographic languages. This means that while it can effectively translate and interpret queries in many languages, it may have limitations with pictographic languages such as Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. We're continuously working to enhance and expand our language support to be as inclusive and comprehensive as possible.
For those interested in the inner workings of Securday or looking to contribute to its development, the source code is openly available. You can find it on GitHub at zitterbewegung/securday. This repository provides a transparent view into how Securday operates and offers an opportunity for developers and enthusiasts to engage directly with the project. Whether you're interested in contributing code, identifying bugs, or simply exploring the technology behind Securday, your insights and contributions are highly valued. It is released under the Apache open source licence.
