'I was addicted to social media – now I'm suing Big Tech'

This sure reads like "troubled young adults lashing out against large institutions because that's where the money is" rather than any legitimate cause for legal action.

I’m a bit confused. There doesn’t seem to be a legitimate case here? Addiction of any form certainly needs to be stopped and social media can be addictive but am I evil for thinking that parents should’ve been more involved here?

The cases really are:

1: I'm addicted to social media because my parents was lax on internet ground rules and I didn't apply self-awareness.

2: I'm an uneducated parent because I don't understand the speed of social manipulation or the social side of the internet.

And finally,

3: I'm a FAANG company and we know exactly how to exploit your lackfullness for money.
